ULTRA SEAL PU 500 is a one-component, non-sag polyurethane sealant that cures through reaction with atmospheric moisture to form a tough, highly elastic and low-modulus seal.
The product provides high resistance to tearing, wear, water, aging and joint movement. It is suitable for sealing vertical and horizontal construction and expansion joints across a wide service-temperature range.
ULTRA SEAL PU 500 provides excellent adhesion to numerous construction substrates, including concrete, wood, marble, natural stone, aluminum, steel, ceramic and gypsum boards. Under normal conditions, it can be applied to properly prepared substrates without priming.
General sealing of construction and expansion joints.
Sealing of vertical and horizontal joints.
Sealing applications in basement walls.
Sealing joints between precast concrete elements.
Suitable for concrete, wood, marble, natural stone, aluminum, steel, ceramic tiles and gypsum boards.

Good resistance to microorganisms and a variety of chemicals.
Non-sag consistency for vertical and horizontal joints.
Standards Compliance
Complies with ISO 11600, Type F, Class 25 LM.
Complies with ASTM C920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Uses NT, T1, A, M and I.
Substrate Preparation
All substrates must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease and any contaminants that may reduce adhesion.
When cleaning is required, use methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), acetone or a suitable grease remover. Ensure that the substrate is completely dry before applying the sealant.
Priming
ULTRA SEAL PU 500 generally provides strong adhesion to common clean, dry and sound substrates without requiring a primer.
A suitable primer may be used on porous or non-porous substrates when optimum adhesion strength is required. A suitable primer must be used for joints that will remain continuously submerged in water.
Apply one thin coat of primer to the sides of the joint using a small brush. Avoid excessive priming and apply the sealant while the primer remains tacky.
Joint Design
Install a polyethylene backing rod to control the sealant depth.
For optimum performance, maintain a joint width-to-depth ratio of 2:1.
The minimum recommended sealant depth is 5 mm.
Application
Apply the product at a temperature between 5°C and 50°C.
For cold-weather application, store the product at approximately 20°C for 24 hours before use.
Install a suitable polyethylene backing rod at the required depth.
Extrude the sealant continuously into the prepared joint, ensuring complete contact with both joint sides.
Avoid trapping air inside or beneath the sealant.
Tool and finish the sealant immediately after application.
Press the sealant firmly against the joint sides to achieve proper adhesion.

Limitations
Do not apply to weak or unsound substrates.
Although the sealant is generally paintable, paint compatibility should be tested before application.
Prolonged ultraviolet exposure may reduce the surface gloss but does not affect the sealant’s functional performance.
Use an appropriate primer for joints that will remain continuously submerged in water.
Cleaning
Remove uncured material from tools and equipment using paper towels, then clean with acetone, xylene or another suitable solvent. Hardened sealant must be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
Store ULTRA SEAL PU 500 in its original unopened packaging in a dry place at a temperature between 5°C and 25°C.
The product has a shelf life of 8 months from the manufacturing date when stored under the recommended conditions. Storage at temperatures above 25°C may shorten its shelf life.
Packaging
600 ml sausages.
Health and Safety
Use suitable protective gloves and safety goggles during application.
Avoid unnecessary contact with the skin and eyes.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean, cold water and obtain medical attention.
Ensure adequate ventilation during application.
The cured product is considered non-hazardous.
Refer to the latest Safety Data Sheet before handling or using the product.
