WHITE SAND FACADE TS is a pre-weighed, two-component cementitious floor and wall tile adhesive. It is designed for bonding natural stone, mosaic, porcelain, ceramic and glass tiles to common building substrates, including concrete, cement-sand render, screeds, brickwork, blockwork and existing tiled surfaces.
Its enhanced adhesion and flexibility make it suitable for large tiles exposed to thermal and mechanical stresses, including low-porosity and non-absorbent tiles.
Natural stone, mosaic, porcelain, ceramic and glass tiles.
Concrete, cement-sand render, screeds, brickwork and blockwork.
Bonding new tiles over existing tiled surfaces.
Large tiles exposed to thermal and mechanical stresses.
Interior and exterior floor and wall applications.
Low-porosity and non-absorbent tiles.
Advantages
No water or admixture required; mix the two pre-weighed components.
High bond strength.
Slump-free consistency with high initial grab for heavy wall tiles.
Suitable for all types of tiles.
Suitable for interior and exterior applications.
Excellent mechanical properties.
Can bond new tiles to existing tiles.
Substrate Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, sound and free from loosely adhering particles. Cement laitance must be removed. Wire brushing, sandblasting, water blasting or grinding may be used to clean and prepare the substrate.
Concrete substrates must be at least four weeks old, depending on climatic conditions. Wet the surface with clean water before application, except gypsum board. The surface should appear damp without standing or pooled water.
Standards Compliance
Complies with EN 12004, class C2T.
Mixing
Slowly add the WHITE SAND FACADE TS powder component to the liquid component.
Mix with a slow-speed electric drill and suitable paddle for at least two minutes.
Continue until the mixture is smooth, uniform in colour and slump-free.
Do not add water or any other admixture.
Application
Apply the mixed adhesive to the prepared substrate and press firmly with a trowel.
Comb with a suitably sized notched trowel; select the notch size according to the tile and substrate.
Back-buttering may be required for floor tiles exposed to heavy traffic.
Within the open time, press the tiles firmly with a slight twisting action.
Adjust the tiles within the stated adjustability period.
Tiles must not bridge active joints between concrete slabs. Use WHITE SAND sealants for expansion joints.
Use spacers and ensure full support without voids.
Clean excess adhesive before it sets and leave the tiles undisturbed for at least 48 hours.
Yield and Coverage
4.0 kg/m² at a continuous bed thickness of 2.5 mm.
3.0 kg/m² when a 4 mm notched trowel is used.
6.0 kg/m² when an 8 mm notched trowel is used.
The figures are approximate; actual consumption depends on substrate condition, application method and material wastage.
Cleaning
Clean all tools with water immediately after completing the application. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
Minimum shelf life is 12 months in unopened and undamaged original bags or barrels, stored in a dry, shaded place away from direct sunlight below 35°C.
Packaging
Powder component: 20 kg paper bags.
Liquid component: 8 litre barrels.
