Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be sound, clean and free from dust, laitance, loose particles, varnish, grease, oil, algae and any contaminants that may reduce adhesion.

Remove weak or inconsistent material by brushing, grinding, sandblasting or another suitable mechanical preparation method.

General Application Instructions

ULTRAPROOF is a highly concentrated material. Always follow the recommended dilution ratio for the intended application. Excess product or an incorrect dilution ratio may produce a stiff or rapidly drying mortar mixture.

Thermal-Insulation Enhancement

1. Dilute one part ULTRAPROOF with six parts clean water.
2. Mix thoroughly until a uniform liquid is obtained.
3. Add the diluted solution to pre-blended sand-cement plaster, mortar or compatible dry mixes.
4. Mix mechanically at low speed for approximately 3-4 minutes.
5. Allow the mixture to stand for approximately five minutes.
6. Remix briefly until homogeneous and free from lumps.

Use as an Admixture

1. Dilute one part ULTRAPROOF with seven parts clean water.
2. Mix thoroughly until uniform.
3. Use the diluted solution as the mixing liquid for pre-blended plaster, mortar or other compatible dry mixes.
4. Mix mechanically at low speed for approximately 3-4 minutes.
5. Allow the mixture to stand for five minutes, then remix briefly.

Use as a Bonding Agent

1. Dilute one part ULTRAPROOF with three parts clean water.
2. Mix thoroughly until uniform.
3. Apply directly to the prepared substrate using a brush or suitable spray equipment.
4. When using a hand pump, the approximate spreading rate is 15 m² per litre of diluted material.
5. Apply plaster, render or mortar while the bonding coat remains wet or tacky.
6. Do not allow the bonding coat to dry completely before applying the subsequent cementitious material.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment with clean water before the product hardens. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Storage and Shelf Life

ULTRAPROOF has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in its original sealed container under suitable warehouse conditions, protected from direct sunlight, at an ambient temperature below 35°C.
