Substrate Preparation

Remove all dust, loose material, oil, grease, efflorescence, cement laitance and any contaminants that may reduce adhesion.

Sweep, brush or clean the prepared surface using oil-free compressed air.

Dampen absorbent surfaces using clean water, but do not leave standing or pooled water.

Application

1. Stir PRIME RC thoroughly before application.
2. Apply using a suitable brush.
3. Ensure that the complete surface is evenly covered.
4. Work the primer into the substrate pores, cracks and crevices.
5. Avoid puddles and excessive material accumulation.
6. Apply the repair mortar while PRIME RC remains wet or tacky.
7. Approximate drying time is 20 minutes at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
8. If the primer dries completely, apply a fresh coat before installing the repair mortar.
9. Do not allow dust to contaminate the primed surface.
10. If contamination occurs, clean and re-prime the area.

Yield and Coverage

Approximate coverage is 4-6 m² per litre, depending on substrate condition, porosity and application method.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment using clean water before the primer hardens. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Storage and Shelf Life

PRIME RC has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in its original sealed container under suitable warehouse conditions, protected from direct sunlight, at an ambient temperature below 35°C.
