High-Strength Non-Shrink Structural Grout

FLOW GR 500 is a multi-purpose, high-strength, non-shrink and non-metallic cementitious grout developed for high-performance structural grouting.

The ready-to-use powder requires only the addition of clean water to produce a highly flowable grout with high early strength, strong adhesion to steel and concrete, low permeability and no bleeding.

FLOW GR 500 is suitable for machinery foundations, base plates, structural steel, precast concrete, anchor bolts, bridge and road maintenance and void filling. It can be applied at thicknesses from 5-100 mm and complies with ASTM C1107 Grade A and EN 1504-3 class R4.

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be sound, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, laitance and contaminants.

Thoroughly saturate absorbent concrete surfaces using clean water. Remove standing and excess water before placing the grout.

Steel surfaces must be free from rust, mill scale, oil and grease. Formwork must be watertight, rigid and sufficiently strong to prevent leakage or deformation.

Mixing

Use approximately 3.8 litres of clean water for each 25 kg bag.
Place the measured water in a suitable mixing container.
Slowly add FLOW GR 500 powder while mixing continuously.
Use a grout mixer or slow-speed drill fitted with a high-shear paddle.
Mix for at least three minutes until homogeneous and uniform.
Do not divide the packs or attempt partial mixing.
During hot weather, condition the bags in a cool place and use chilled mixing water.
Keep the mixed-grout temperature below 30°C.
Use chilled water for large pockets and thick-section grouting.

Placement

Place the grout immediately after mixing.
Pour continuously from one side only.
Arrange the pour so the grout travels the shortest practical distance.
Allow displaced air to escape freely.
Maintain a continuous hydrostatic head during base-plate grouting.
Keep exposed grout surfaces to the minimum practical area.
Shade base plates and foundations from direct sunlight during hot weather.

Application Thickness

Minimum recommended thickness: 5 mm.
Maximum normal thickness: 100 mm.
For sections thicker than 100 mm, add 10 kg of clean, washed 6-10 mm aggregate to each 25 kg bag.

Precautions

Maintain the grout, substrate and contacting elements at a temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
Do not add excessive water.
Do not use water at a temperature that causes bleeding or segregation.
Do not retemper grout that has begun to set.

Curing

Protect exposed surfaces from rapid water loss using continuous water curing, wet hessian or a suitable WHITE SAND-CURE curing compound.

Cleaning

Clean tools immediately after use using clean water. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Storage and Shelf Life

FLOW GR 500 has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in its original sealed packaging in a dry, shaded place under suitable warehouse conditions at a temperature below 35°C.

Wash skin contact immediately using soap and clean water.
Rinse eye contact immediately with plenty of clean, cold water.
