High-Performance Solvent-Free Epoxy Flooring Primer
WHITE SAND PRIME EP10 is a two-component, solvent-free, low-viscosity epoxy resin primer designed for use with epoxy flooring, coating and compatible concrete repair systems. It effectively seals prepared concrete substrates and provides maximum adhesion between the substrate and the subsequent epoxy system.
WHITE SAND PRIME EP10 contains 100% solids and provides high bond strength, excellent mechanical properties and good penetration into prepared concrete surfaces, helping produce a uniform and defect-free final finish.
Used as a sealing primer before applying epoxy flooring systems.
Used under compatible epoxy coating materials.
Suitable for prepared concrete and cementitious substrates.
Seals porous substrates before the application of subsequent materials.
Promotes optimum adhesion between the substrate and epoxy systems.
Helps produce a uniform and defect-free final surface.
Advantages
High bond strength.
Provides optimum adhesion to a wide variety of compatible substrates.
Excellent mechanical properties.
Solvent-free formulation.
100% solid content.
Low-viscosity formulation with good substrate penetration.
Provides effective sealing of porous concrete surfaces.
Easy to mix and apply.
Factory-proportioned two-component system.
Suitable for flooring, coating and compatible concrete repair systems.
Substrate Preparation
All surfaces receiving WHITE SAND PRIME EP10 must be structurally sound, dry, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, cement laitance, loose particles, old coatings and other contaminants.
Correct surface preparation is essential for the immediate and long-term performance of the applied epoxy system.
New concrete floors must be at least four weeks old and have a moisture content not exceeding 5%.
Mixing
Pour the entire contents of the hardener container into the base container.
Mix using a slow-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable mixing paddle.
Mix thoroughly for approximately three minutes.
Continue mixing until the material becomes completely uniform and even in consistency.
Do not divide the supplied packs or mix partial quantities.
Do not add solvents or other materials at any stage.
Spread the mixed material in a thin layer as soon as possible after mixing.
An increase in material or ambient temperature will reduce the pot life. Leaving mixed material concentrated inside the container will generate heat and significantly shorten its working time.
Application
Apply the mixed WHITE SAND PRIME EP10 uniformly over the prepared substrate.
Use a nylon-bristle brush or short-nap roller.
Distribute the primer evenly and ensure complete surface coverage.
Avoid excessive application and do not allow the material to form puddles.
Do not leave the mixed primer inside the application container for an extended period.
When the primer becomes tacky to the touch, proceed with the application of the compatible epoxy flooring, coating or repair system.
Apply the subsequent system within the primer’s specified open time.
Yield and Coverage
One 15 litre pack of WHITE SAND PRIME EP10 covers approximately 150 m² in a single coat, equivalent to approximately 10 m² per litre.
The stated coverage is approximate. Actual consumption depends on substrate condition, porosity, surface profile, application method and material wastage.
Cleaning
Clean tools and application equipment immediately after use with a suitable cleaning solvent recommended for epoxy materials.
Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
WHITE SAND PRIME EP10 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in its unopened and undamaged original packaging under dry warehouse conditions.
Storage under high-temperature or high-humidity conditions may reduce the product’s shelf life.
Packaging
15 litre two-component kits consisting of base and hardener.
Health and Safety
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
Avoid prolonged inhalation of vapours generated during application.
Use suitable respiratory protection when working in enclosed spaces.
Remove uncured material from the skin using resin-removing cream or soap and water.
Do not use solvents to clean the skin.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.
If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately and do not induce vomiting.
Do not dispose of the material in water or soil. Follow applicable local disposal regulations.
