Uses
- Industrial and commercial warehouse floors.
- Chemical and oil-industry facilities.
- Pulp and paper mills.
- Dairies and food-production facilities.
- Vehicle maintenance workshops.
- Car-parking areas.
- Floors requiring resistance to chemicals and abrasion.
- Dry areas requiring a durable semi-gloss or gloss finish.
- Wet areas requiring an optional anti-slip texture.
Advantages
- High-build epoxy floor coating.
- Excellent opacity and covering power.
- High resistance to abrasion.
- High resistance to a range of chemicals.
- Durable and suitable for industrial applications.
- Easy to apply by brush or roller.
- Easy to clean and maintain.
- Produces a semi-gloss to gloss finish.
- Provides adequate slip resistance for most dry conditions.
- Can be converted into an anti-slip system for wet areas.
- Factory-proportioned two-component system.
- Suitable for concrete and correctly prepared steel substrates.
Substrate Preparation
All surfaces receiving WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 75 must be structurally sound, flat, dry, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, laitance, old coatings and other surface contaminants.
Repair surface irregularities and damaged areas using a suitable WHITE SAND repair material. An epoxy-based putty is recommended for surface cracks and minor defects.
New concrete must be at least four weeks old and have a moisture content not exceeding 5%.
Steel substrates must be grit-blasted and coated with one coat of a compatible primer.
Mixing
- Ensure the substrate, tools and application area are ready before mixing.
- Mix complete factory-proportioned packs only.
- Pour the entire contents of the hardener container into the base container.
- Mix with a slow-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable mixing paddle.
- Mix thoroughly for approximately three minutes.
- Continue mixing until the material is uniform in consistency and color.
- Do not mix partial packs.
- Do not add solvents or other materials at any stage.
Application
- Apply the mixed WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 75 uniformly to the prepared surface.
- Use a suitable brush or lambswool roller.
- Spread the coating evenly and avoid puddling.
- Apply the second coat after the first coat has initially dried and within the recommended recoating interval.
- Allow the completed coating to cure for at least 24 hours before opening it to traffic.
- Allow the coating to cure for 6-7 days before exposure to water or chemicals.
Anti-Slip Finish
For wet areas or locations requiring maximum slip resistance, broadcast a suitable grade of non-slip aggregate over the wet first coat. Allow the coating to cure, remove loose aggregate and apply the second coat until the required texture is obtained.
Yield and Coverage
One 4 litre pack of WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 75 covers approximately 16 m² in two coats of approximately 100 microns wet-film thickness each.
The stated coverage is approximate. Actual consumption depends on substrate condition, porosity, surface profile, applied thickness, selected finish and material wastage.
Cleaning
Clean tools and mixing equipment immediately after use with WHITE SAND SOLV 10. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 75 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in its unopened and undamaged original packaging under dry warehouse conditions.
Storage under high-temperature or high-humidity conditions may reduce the product’s shelf life. Keep away from heat, sparks, flames and other ignition sources.
Packaging
- 4 litre two-component packs.
Health and Safety
- Both components are flammable.
- Keep away from naked flames, sparks and sources of ignition.
- Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use.
- Use carbon dioxide or foam extinguishing equipment in case of fire.
- Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and barrier cream.
- Avoid contact with the skin and eyes and prolonged inhalation of vapours.
- Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing and application.
- Use suitable respiratory protection when working in enclosed areas.
- Remove uncured material from the skin using resin-removing cream or soap and water.
- Do not use solvents to clean the skin.
- In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical advice.
- If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately and do not induce vomiting.
- Do not dispose of the material in water or soil. Follow applicable local disposal regulations.
