Water-Resistant Skim and Finishing Coat for Interior Application

WHITE SAND COAT FC is a polymer-modified cementitious dry-mix smooth finishing coat formulated with hydraulic binders, graded fillers, polymeric materials and special additives. It is mixed with clean water to provide a smooth, high-performance levelling finish for interior surfaces before paints and coatings.

Uses

Filling small voids and minor surface irregularities.
Levelling and smoothing concrete, sand-cement render and mineral backgrounds.
Preparing interior walls and ceilings before decorative paints and coatings.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces and application areas must be properly prepared, clean and free from dust, loose material, oil, grease, laitance and other contaminants that may impair performance.

Mixing and Preparation

Add approximately 8.0-9.0 litres of clean water per 25 kg bag. Slowly add the powder and mix with a low-speed drill for at least 3 minutes until smooth and lump-free. Allow to stand for about 5 minutes and remix.

Application

Apply with a painter’s putty knife; do not use a mason’s trowel. Build up thin layers, allowing each layer to dry before the next. Sand the final coat with fine-grade sandpaper. Paint only after complete drying. Under high temperature or strong wind, periodically spray with water for at least 48 hours.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment with water immediately after use and before the material hardens. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Wear suitable protective gloves and safety goggles.
Avoid unnecessary contact with skin and eyes.
Wash skin with soap and clean water after contact.
Rinse eyes immediately with plenty of clean, cold water and seek medical advice if irritation continues.
Follow applicable local disposal requirements and do not dispose of material in water or soil.
