PLUG is a rapid-setting, ready-mixed hydraulic cement mortar developed to stop running water and seepage through cracks and openings in concrete and masonry structures.
The product is chemically formulated to withstand continuous exposure to water, including active water pressure. It develops high early strength, provides excellent adhesion and can be applied horizontally, vertically or overhead.
PLUG is suitable for basements, foundations, manholes, tunnels, swimming pools, cisterns, elevator pits and other wet structures. It may also be used for emergency water-stopping repairs and anchoring steel bolts and metal fixtures.

Substrate Preparation
All surfaces must be sound, clean and free from dust, cement laitance, loose particles, grease, oil and any contaminants that may reduce adhesion.
Wire brushing, sandblasting, water blasting or grinding may be used to clean and prepare the substrate.
Where moss, algae or similar biological growth is present, treat the area with a suitable proprietary biocide after grit blasting.
Open cracks and fissures sufficiently to provide an appropriate recess for receiving PLUG. For good mechanical anchorage, form a square or preferably dovetail-shaped groove. Avoid forming a shallow V-shaped groove.
Mixing
Mix only a small quantity that can be applied immediately.
Use approximately 0.30 kg of clean water for every 1 kg of PLUG powder at 23°C.
Place the measured clean water in a suitable container.
Add the powder rapidly to the water while mixing.
Mix for approximately 15 seconds until a uniform, workable consistency is obtained.
Use the material immediately because it sets in approximately 90 seconds at 23°C.
Use lukewarm water in cold weather.
Use cold water at elevated temperatures.
Do not remix or add water after the material begins to set.
Application: Stopping Active Water Leakage
After mixing, form the material into a plug using rubber-gloved hands.
Hold the material until a slight increase in temperature is felt.
Press the plug firmly into the crack, hole or joint.
Do not twist or excessively work the material during placement.
Maintain firm pressure until the material has set.
Remove excess material using a suitable trowel.
Dry-Powder Application
In suitable circumstances, PLUG may be applied as a dry powder. Place and hold the powder directly over the active leak for approximately 40–50 seconds.
Floor-to-Wall Joints
Open a groove approximately 30 × 30 mm along the internal corner.
Prepare and apply PLUG inside the groove.
Form the material into a continuous cove at the wall-to-floor intersection.
Keep the repair damp for at least 15 minutes after setting.
Anchoring Bolts and Metal Fixtures
Drill the hole to the depth specified by the project designer.
Provide a gap of at least 10 mm around all sides of the bolt.
Clean the hole and remove dust and loose particles.
Position the bolt centrally inside the hole.
Press PLUG firmly around the bolt without leaving voids.
Keep the applied material moist for at least 15 minutes.
Do not apply loads or pressure before the material has cured sufficiently.
Cleaning
Remove PLUG from tools and equipment immediately after use and before initial setting using clean water. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
PLUG has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in its original sealed packaging in a dry, shaded place under suitable warehouse conditions at a temperature below 35°C.

Health and Safety
Wear suitable protective gloves and safety goggles during mixing and application.
Avoid unnecessary contact with the skin and eyes.
In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and clean water.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean, cold water.
Seek medical advice if irritation continues.
The product is non-flammable and is not classified as hazardous under current legislation.
Do not dispose of the material in water or soil. Follow applicable local regulations.
