Substrate Preparation

New concrete and cementitious surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 28 days before applying the primer or decorative coating.

The substrate must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease, salts, mold, weak areas, protrusions and other contaminants. Remove old paint completely and repair cracks, holes and surface defects before application.

Application Conditions

• The application temperature must not be below 5°C.
• The substrate moisture content must not exceed 8%.
• The relative humidity must not exceed 70%.
• The substrate pH must not exceed 9.
• Avoid windy, rainy or excessively hot conditions.
• Do not apply under direct sunlight or to wet surfaces.

Application

1. Apply one coat of a suitable WHITE SAND primer and allow it to dry.
2. Stir the product thoroughly before application.
3. If required, add only 1-2% clean tap water.
4. Apply one coat using a steel trowel.
5. Use sufficient trowel pressure to obtain strong adhesion.
6. Create the required texture using a plastic trowel.
7. Clean the plastic trowel periodically with a water-saturated sponge.
8. Smooth the surface until a uniform decorative appearance is achieved.
9. Professional application is recommended.

Yield and Coverage

The theoretical coverage is approximately 0.4 m² per kilogram at a thickness of 2,000 microns.

One 25 kg drum covers approximately 10 m² under theoretical conditions. Actual coverage varies according to substrate condition, texture, application method and wastage.

Drying and Curing

• Surface dry: approximately 2 hours at 25°C.
• Hard dry: approximately 24 hours at 25°C.
• Full cure: approximately 7 days at 25°C.

Cleaning

Clean tools immediately after application using a sponge saturated with clean tap water. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Storage and Shelf Life

WHITE SAND GRAFFITO MEDIUM has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in its tightly sealed original container at approximately 25°C in a dry, cool and well-ventilated location.
