Water-Based Primer and Sealer for Exterior Surfaces
WHITE SAND PRIMER SEALER – EXTERIOR is a high-quality, water-based acrylic-polymer primer developed for exterior concrete, cement-plaster, rendered and other compatible mineral surfaces.
The product penetrates porous substrates, regulates surface absorption and improves the adhesion and hiding power of subsequent exterior coatings. It provides high resistance to water, alkalinity and salts together with excellent durability, fast drying and ultra-low VOC content.
Fills surface porosity and controls substrate absorption.
Improves the hiding power of subsequent exterior topcoats.
Excellent adhesion to properly prepared substrates.
Promotes strong adhesion of subsequent coating layers.
High resistance to alkalinity and salts.
High resistance to water.
High durability.
Fast-drying formulation.
Ultra-low VOC content.
Extremely low odour.
Free from formaldehyde, ammonia and APEOs.
Non-flammable and easy to clean with water.
Substrate Preparation
The exterior substrate must be structurally sound, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, salts, loose particles and other contaminants or foreign materials that may reduce adhesion.
Remove weak and loosely adhering material using a suitable mechanical preparation method. Repair cracks, holes and surface imperfections using a compatible exterior repair or filling compound before application.
Application Conditions
The substrate temperature during application must not be below 10°C.
The substrate moisture content must not exceed 8%.
The relative humidity must not exceed 70%.
The substrate pH must not exceed 9.
Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces.
Do not apply in unsuitable weather conditions.
Provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.
Mixing and Dilution
Stir WHITE SAND PRIMER SEALER – EXTERIOR carefully before use. A suitable quantity of clean tap water may be added to obtain the correct application viscosity.
The amount of water depends on the substrate, application method and weather conditions. Do not over-dilute the product.
Application
Ensure that the exterior substrate is correctly prepared and completely dry.
Apply the primer uniformly using a roller, brush or suitable spray equipment.
Ensure complete coverage of the substrate without puddling.
Allow the primer to dry for at least two hours at 25°C.
Do not apply the subsequent exterior coating until the primer is completely dry.
Protect the primed surface from dust, rain and contamination before applying the topcoat.
Yield and Coverage
WHITE SAND PRIMER SEALER – EXTERIOR covers approximately 12 m² per kilogram at a dry-film thickness of 50 microns.
Actual coverage depends on substrate porosity, surface profile, ambient temperature, application method, applied thickness and material wastage.
Cleaning
Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after application. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
WHITE SAND PRIMER SEALER – EXTERIOR has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in its unopened and undamaged original packaging in a dry and shaded location, protected from direct sunlight, at an ambient temperature below 35°C.
