Substrate Preparation

New concrete and cementitious surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 28 days before applying the primer or coating system.

The substrate must be sound, clean and dry and free from dust, oil, grease, salts, mold, weak areas, protrusions and other contaminants. Remove old paint completely from previously painted surfaces.

Repair cracks, holes and surface imperfections using a suitable product such as WHITE SAND FC before application.

Application Conditions

• The application temperature must not be below 5°C.
• The substrate moisture content must not exceed 8%.
• The relative humidity must not exceed 70%.
• The substrate pH must not exceed 9.
• Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces.
• Provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.

Mixing and Dilution

Stir WHITE SAND PREMIUM EXTERIOR EMULSION thoroughly before use. Dilute only with clean tap water when required.

• Airless spray: dilute with approximately 0-10% clean water by volume.
• Roller or brush: dilute with approximately 10-15% clean water by volume.

Application

1. Apply one coat of a suitable WHITE SAND exterior primer and allow it to dry.
2. Apply two uniform coats of WHITE SAND PREMIUM EXTERIOR EMULSION.
3. Use airless spray, a soft smooth roller or suitable brush.
4. Maintain the recommended dry-film thickness.
5. Allow each coat to dry fully before applying the subsequent coat.
6. Maintain a minimum recoating interval of four hours at 25°C.

Yield and Coverage

The theoretical coverage is approximately 13.3 m² per litre at a dry-film thickness of 30 microns.

Actual consumption depends on substrate condition, surface texture, application method, applied thickness and material wastage.

Drying and Curing

• Surface dry: approximately 30 minutes at 25°C.
• Hard dry: approximately 2 hours at 25°C.
• Minimum recoating interval: approximately 4 hours at 25°C.
• Full cure: approximately 7 days.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment with tap water immediately after application. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Storage and Shelf Life

WHITE SAND PREMIUM EXTERIOR EMULSION has a shelf life of 24 months when stored in its tightly sealed original container at approximately 25°C in a dry, cool and well-ventilated location.

• 16 litre containers, approximately 25 kg.
