Substrate Preparation
All surfaces receiving WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 100 must be structurally sound, flat, dry, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, laitance, old coatings and other surface contaminants.
Repair all cracks, surface irregularities and damaged areas using suitable WHITE SAND repair materials before applying the coating.
New concrete floors must be at least four weeks old and have a moisture content not exceeding 5%.
Weak or friable concrete substrates should be consolidated using a suitable solvent-free epoxy primer. Steel substrates must be grit-blasted and coated with a compatible primer.
Mixing
Confirm that the substrate, tools and application area are ready before mixing.
Use complete factory-proportioned packs only.
Pour the entire contents of the hardener container into the base container.
Mix using a slow-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable mixing paddle.
Mix thoroughly for approximately 2-3 minutes until completely blended.
Scrape the sides and bottom of the container during mixing.
Avoid introducing air bubbles into the mixture.
Mix only the quantity that can be applied within the stated pot life.
Do not divide packs or add solvents at any stage.
Application
Apply WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 100 uniformly to the prepared substrate using a short-nap mohair roller.
Apply at approximately 5 m² per litre to produce a 200-micron coating per coat.
Apply two uniform coats.
Avoid puddling and ensure complete, even coverage.
Apply the second coat within the specified recoating interval.
Allow the completed coating to cure for at least 24 hours before opening it to traffic.
Allow the coating to cure for 6-7 days before exposure to water or chemicals.
Anti-Slip Application
Apply the first coat of WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 100.
While the first coat remains wet, broadcast a selected grade of suitable aggregate at approximately 1 kg/m².
Use spiked shoes when walking over the wet coating during aggregate broadcasting.
Allow the first coat and aggregate to cure.
Remove all loose aggregate by sweeping or vacuum cleaning.
Apply the second coat and spread it until the required surface texture is obtained.
Yield and Coverage
One 15 kg pack of WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 100 covers approximately 10 m² in two coats of 200 microns each, as stated in the product technical data sheet.
The stated coverage is approximate. Actual consumption depends on substrate condition, surface profile, selected texture, application thickness and material wastage.
Cleaning
Clean tools and mixing equipment immediately after application using WHITE SAND Hot Thinner. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Storage and Shelf Life
WHITE SAND FLOOR EP 100 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in its unopened and undamaged original packaging under dry warehouse conditions.
High temperatures and high humidity may reduce the product’s shelf life.
Packaging
15 kg two-component packs consisting of base and hardener.
Health and Safety
The two components are non-flammable.
Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and barrier cream.
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
Avoid prolonged inhalation of vapours.
Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing and application.
Use suitable respiratory protection when working in enclosed areas.
Remove uncured material from the skin using resin-removing cream or soap and water.
Do not use solvents to clean the skin.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.
If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately and do not induce vomiting.
Do not dispose of the material in water or soil. Follow applicable local disposal regulations.
