Surface Preparation

All substrates must be sound, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, loose material, paint residues and any contaminants that may reduce adhesion.

Remove all loose or weak material from the edges and interior of the crack.

When a crack is too fine to fill correctly, carefully open it sufficiently to determine its actual width and depth and to provide an adequate key for the filling compound.

CRACK FILLER is intended for static, non-structural cracks only. Moving or structural cracks must be assessed and repaired using a suitable engineered system.

Mixing

1. Place approximately 8.5-9 litres of clean water in a suitable mixing container for each 25 kg bag.
2. Slowly add CRACK FILLER powder to the pre-measured water while mixing continuously.
3. Use a slow-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable mixing paddle.
4. Mix for at least two minutes until smooth, homogeneous and slump-free.
5. Allow the mixture to stand for approximately five minutes.
6. Remix briefly before application.
7. Use the mixed material within its one-hour pot life.
8. Mix only the quantity that can be applied within the pot life.
9. Do not add additional water after the material begins to set.

Application

1. Lightly dampen the prepared surface using clean water.
2. Remove any standing or excess water.
3. Apply the mixed CRACK FILLER using a spatula or putty knife.
4. Press the material firmly into the crack or hole.
5. Avoid leaving cavities, air pockets or voids.
6. Level and smooth the surface using a clean putty knife.
7. Allow the material to dry completely before applying decorative putty or paint.

Limitations

• Suitable only for static, non-structural cracks.
• Maximum suitable crack width is approximately 4 mm.
• Do not use on actively moving joints or structural cracks.
• Determine and correct the source of cracking before repair where necessary.
• Do not coat the repaired area until the material has dried completely.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment immediately after use and before the initial cure using clean water. Hardened material must be removed mechanically.

Storage and Shelf Life

CRACK FILLER has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in its original sealed packaging in a dry, shaded place under suitable warehouse conditions at a temperature below 35°C.

• Wear suitable protective gloves and safety goggles during mixing and application.
• Avoid unnecessary contact with the skin and eyes.
• In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and clean water.
• In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean, cold water.
• Seek medical advice if irritation continues.
• The product is non-flammable and is not classified as hazardous under current legislation.
• Do not dispose of the material in water or soil. Follow applicable local disposal regulations.
